Congressman Sessions speaks to media at the House Republican Members Issues Conference

This week, I attended the House Republican Members Issues Conference. We discussed, along with President Trump and Vice President Vance, our priorities in legislation for the 119th Congress. It was a productive and collaborative atmosphere, where we were able to align our priorities and set the groundwork for legislative action that will reflect the values and concerns of our constituents. As we move forward into the 119th Congress, we are more focused than ever on delivering results that will strengthen our economy, secure our borders, reduce government overreach, and uphold American values. This weekend, I will be in Pflugerville to celebrate two of our service academy appointees! TX-17 produces some of the best and the brightest candidates for appointment into a prestigious United States Service Academy.

Reflecting on the Tragedy on the Potomac

It would be remiss not to acknowledge the tragic incident at Ronald Reagan National Airport on Wednesday. My heart goes out to the families of the victims, and I am keeping them in my prayers, hoping for peace, comfort, and clarity in the days ahead. I am deeply grateful for the dedicated first responders and emergency personnel who continue to work tirelessly at the scene. May God provide comfort to our nation as we come together in mourning during this difficult time.

H.R.8878 → Blind Americans Return to Work Act of 2024
Next week, when the House is back in session, I plan to reintroduce the Blind Americans Return to Work Act for the 119th Congress. This bipartisan legislation fixes the SGA earning cliff, allowing blind Americans to professionally develop without complete loss of aid. Blind and low-vision Americans should not be restrained from pursuing career advancement by fear of losing necessary benefits. You can read more about it here.
