Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore released a statement after re-introducing the Protecting Our Communities from DUIs Act. Under the Biden Administration, deportations were drastically decreased. Biden even threatened to fire ICE agents who deported criminal illegal aliens who had not committed felonies because, in his view, ICE agents should “only arrest for the purpose of dealing with a felony that’s been committed, and I do not count drunk driving as a felony.”
“In the United States, someone dies in a crash with an impaired driver every 45 minutes. I lost two of my young newlywed constituents to an illegal immigrant driving under the influence of alcohol, and thanks to Biden's open border policies, these tragedies are still occurring,” said Moore. “I look forward to working with President Trump to protect American families from these tragedies by deporting illegal immigrants who have been caught driving impaired.”
“The tragic loss of life due to drunk driving illegal aliens is a stark failure of radical open border policies. We must protect American citizens at all costs," said Rep. Eric Burlison (MO-07).
“I am proud to cosponsor Rep. Barry Moore’s Protect Communities from DUIs Act, important legislation to protect citizens from the consequences of the Biden-Harris Administration’s open border policies," said Rep. Harriet Hageman (WY). "Unfortunately, countless Americans across the country are injured or killed in DUI accidents caused by illegal aliens. It’s a no-brainer to deport criminal aliens who put innocent American lives at risk with reckless and impaired driving. This is about protecting families, holding criminals accountable, and advancing President Trump’s vision of a nation that prioritizes safety, sovereignty, and justice for its citizens.”
“I’m proud to cosponsor Congressman Moore’s Protect Communities from DUIs Act,” said Rep. Troy Nehls (TX-22). “Any illegal alien who has been convicted or committed the offense of driving drunk or impaired must be deported immediately. Full stop.”
“President Trump is restoring law and order at our border and in communities across our country. The Protect Communities from DUIs Act is another vital step in that effort," said Rep. Dan Meuser (PA-09). This legislation is commonsense, requiring any illegal immigrant convicted of drunk or imparted driving to be removed from our country. President Trump and Republicans in Congress will continue to advance bills that prioritize the safety and wellbeing of our citizens and communities. I look forward to this America First legislation quickly making its way to President Trump’s desk.”
“As Attorney General, I saw far too many cases where Kansans were harmed by illegal aliens who were under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” said Congressman Derek Schmidt (KS-02). “House Republicans are acting quickly and decisively to undo the damage that four years of Biden’s border crisis caused. Deporting illegal aliens who’ve been caught driving drunk or impaired is common sense, which is why I’m proud to cosponsor this legislation. It will improve safety in communities across our great nation.”
