This week, five Quaker meetings filed a lawsuit to protect immigrants from ICE arrests in houses of worship. As a Quaker organization grounded in the recognition that all people have the divine light within them, we share in their convictions.

Tell Congress: Act now to halt deportations! [link removed]

For over 30 years, houses of worship, schools, hospitals, and other sensitive locations were protected from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids and arrests. Past administrations recognized that our communities are safer and healthier when all community members can seek medical care, attend school, and worship without fear.

But the Trump administration has reversed this policy as part of its pursuit of mass detention and deportation. And across the country this week, ICE has ramped up its operations, leading to fear and panic.

This aggressive enforcement undermines our fundamental values. We believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect—and honoring the unique contributions that people from all backgrounds bring to our communities. We are also deeply committed to opposing violence in all its forms. That includes the long history of abuses, family separations, and deaths that have been caused by ICE and Border Patrol while wasting billions in taxpayer dollars.

Please join us in demanding that Congress take immediate steps to halt deportations. [link removed] Tell them to protect houses of worship, workplaces, schools, hospitals, and other critical spaces from ICE raids and to stop detaining people at ICE check-ins.
