Dear John,

As earthquakes and volcanic activity in the Afar region of Ethiopia destroy homes, roads and infrastructure, displacing several thousand people, we are urgently asking for donations to support recovery efforts and help keep people safe and healthy.

While global corporate media has largely ignored this disaster, communities in northeast Ethiopia have experienced over 50 earthquakes in recent months causing extensive damage to homes, health centres, schools, roads, farmland and critical infrastructure.

Please give whatever you can today and help communities keep people safe and healthy at this critical time! [[link removed]]

Over 50,000 people have been displaced and an ongoing cholera outbreak is adding to the risks people face, especially as they seek shelter in temporary settlements.

We are already working with communities in this region and have launched an emergency appeal [[link removed]] to raise vital funds, so we can mobilize and deploy emergency teams to provide immediate relief, including medical assistance, nutrition support, and shelter.

Please contribute whatever you can to this urgent effort and help to spread the word about this emergency. We are truly grateful for any support you can offer at this critical time.

Warm regards,

Siaffa Bunduka,

Supporter Engagement Manager
