 First wave of artists announced for Light Night

See the city glow after dark for Nottingham Light Night! Explore landmarks, streets and hidden corners at this free, family-friendly event.
Whether you’re an arts and culture enthusiast, seeking a fun family outing, or hunting for that perfect Instagram-worthy moment, there’s something to illuminate everyone’s imagination.
More than 35 immersive and interactive light-based installations, performances and activities will be taking place over the two nights. Here's a sneak peek of what to expect:

Primal Future is a mesmerising projection on the Council House, bringing together dynamic dance, cutting-edge technology, and motion graphics, all set to a specially commissioned electronic soundtrack.
- Nottingham Castle will also be bathed with a stunning visual projection, Orbit, taking audiences from the birth of the universe to humanity’s ventures into space.
- Outside the Castle, visitors can discover a captivating Firefly Field at the Robin Hood Statue.

Continuum is a mirrored, immersive artwork, which will be arranged in a geometric maze at Sneinton Market Square.Â
Light Night is produced by Nottingham City Council and It’s in Nottingham – the city’s business improvement district. The event is funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, It's in Nottingham, and Nottingham City Council. Cultural organisations across the city also support the event.
 Mariposa: A Queer Tragedy
 Fri 28 February Mansfield Palace Theatre
Mariposa is an operatic dance drama inspired by Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, transporting audiences to post-revolution Cuba. Under the flickering neon lights of a distant Caribbean port, a local rent boy and a foreign sailor fall ominously in love.Â
Performed by the diverse international cast of DeNada Dance Theatre, this production is a passionate and deeply moving exploration of what we are ready to sacrifice in order to be loved and accepted. The original score takes its inspiration from Caribbean sounds as well as Puccini.

 Wet Wet Wet

Following on from a sold-out tour which saw them perform to tens of thousands across the country, the iconic Wet Wet Wet are embarking on a huge tour of the UK in 2025. Featuring founding member Graeme Clark, accompanied as ever by long-standing guitarist Graeme Duffin, and fronted by Kevin Simm.
The ‘Wets’ will bring to the stage their catalogue of legendary and defining hits, including the likes of Sweet Little Mystery, Angel Eyes, Goodnight Girl, With a Little Help from My Friends, Sweet Surrender, Julia Says and more. They'll be joined by special guest Heather Small.

Celebrate the Lunar New Year and welcome the Year of the Snake with arts and crafts that the whole family can enjoy.
Lakeside Arts is offering a fabulous opportunity to try out different Chinese arts and crafts including paper cutting, Chinese knot making, calligraphy and more. You are invited to drop in anytime between 12pm and 3pm to take part in the workshop.

 Nottingham Independents' Castle Beer Festival
 Fri 4 & Sat 5 April Nottingham Castle
The Nottingham Independents' Castle Beer Festival celebrates local independent breweries, cidermakers, and foodies.
It will showcase over 100 different beers from 10+ local breweries, alongside a selection of ciders, street food, and live music, all set within the iconic Castle grounds. Breweries include Castle Rock, Blue Monkey, Black Iris, Neon Raptor, and Shipstone's.
The brewery bars and food stalls will circle the bandstand, where a line-up of local musicians will take centre stage.
