Social media influencer sentenced for multiple fishing-related charges

Sloane Lake, Cheyenne Wyoming

A Cheyenne man, a self-proclaimed social media influencer and nonprofit head, was recently *sentenced on multiple fishing-related charges* [ [link removed] ]. The charges were the most recent of multiple wildlife violations he committed, and stem from a 2022 case in which he was charged with and plead guilty to illegally releasing live fish into a Wyoming water.

With temperatures below freezing across much of Wyoming, ice fishing season has begun. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department *urges anglers to practice safety before venturing out on the ice.* [ [link removed] ] Ice on many waters may not be safe, especially with varying temperatures and wind conditions throughout the state.







Game and Fish inspects over 78,000 watercraft for AIS in 2024

Wyoming Game and Fish Department personnel had another busy year keeping aquatic invasive species out of the state. In 2024, *Game and Fish inspected 78,157 watercraft* [ [link removed] ], the most since the AIS program started in 2010. That total was up by more than 8,000 inspections from 2023.




Anglers invited to compete in Mac Attack fishing contest

The highly anticipated *2025 Mac Attack Fishing Contest* [ [link removed] ] is set to take place Feb. 15-17 at Flaming Gorge Reservoir. This fishing contest, sponsored by Buckboard Marina and modeled after the successful Burbot Bash, is designed to benefit the reservoir's fisheries by helping to reduce the overabundance of small lake trout.
