John – for the past four years, we've been fortunate to have a Secretary of Defense who led with integrity and honor.
Lloyd J. Austin III, the first African American Secretary of Defense, served with our nation for over 40 years with distinction – commanding U.S. forces in Iraq and Syria, serving as the Army’s Vice Chief of Staff, and leading U.S. Central Command.
It is individuals like Lloyd J. Austin III who should be leading our nation, but under the Trump administration, we face a dangerous shift.
Marilyn is working around the clock to uphold the integrity of our democratic institutions, including the Department of Defense. With our first end-of-month fundraising deadline tomorrow, we must ask: will you chip in $10? Last week Pete Hegseth was confirmed as our next defense Secretary despite a history of troubling allegations – sexual assault, mistreatment of female colleagues, and opposition to women in combat roles.
During his confirmation hearings, he even refused to answer whether he would follow orders from Trump to weaponize the military against the American people. His loyalty to Trump appears absolute – a dangerous precedent for our democracy.
This is where we come in, John. To fight back, we must rally together to build a powerful movement of holding Trump, Hegseth, and far-right extremists accountable.
Our first end-of-month fundraising deadline of the year is tomorrow, and we still need to raise $11,867 to stay in the fight. Anything less is a setback we can't afford. Can we count on you to chip in $10 today? [[link removed]]
