Governor Gordon Appoints Cynthia Sweet Howe to be a Circuit Court Judge for the Seventh Judicial District
CHEYENNE, WYO – Governor Mark Gordon has appointed Cynthia Sweet Howe to be a Circuit Court Judge for the Seventh Judicial District serving Natrona County. Her appointment fills the vacancy left by the retirement of Circuit Court Judge Brian D. Christensen. Sweet Howe has served as the Supervising Staff Attorney of the Wyoming Office of Guardian ad Litem since 2010. The Wyoming Office of the Guardian ad Litem is a state- and county-funded agency that provides legal representation for children in juvenile court. She previously operated her own law office, providing legal representation in a variety of family and domestic law cases. Sweet Howe earned her Bachelor’s degree from Bradley University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado. “The Judicial Nominating Commission once again advanced three outstanding candidates for this judgeship,” Governor Gordon said. “Cynthia’s thoughtful approach and compassionate advocacy for her clients will serve her well as a Circuit Court judge,” Governor Gordon said. “I am grateful for the trust Governor Gordon and the Judicial Nominating Commission has in me to serve as Circuit Court Judge. I look forward to serving the citizens of Natrona County in this new role,” Sweet Howe said. The appointment is effective March 6, 2025. -END-
