Here’s a timeline for you, team:

The FAA, under former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, spent the last four years reinforcing safety protocols and hiring more Air Traffic Controllers.

Over that four year stretch there were zero commercial airline fatalities in the United States.

On January 20th, Trump took the White House.

That same day, the administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration resigned under pressure from Elon Musk.

That same day, Donald Trump issued a federal hiring freeze. Countless job offers to qualified applicants were rescinded — potentially including Air Traffic Controllers.

Yesterday, a mid-air collision between a commercial airliner and an Army helicopter over Washington, D.C. left dozens dead. A horrific tragedy.

Today, the Commander in Chief, the Vice President, and the Secretary of Defense are politicizing the deaths of not only 67 people, but three Servicemembers.

Their hatred for those who serve knows no bounds. Their disdain for women knows no limits. Their empathy for those left behind is nonexistent.

This administration wants to dismantle the federal government. They want to reduce trust, degrade service, and demoralize the federal workforce. They’ve frozen federal hiring, and they’re doing everything they can to force out civil servants tasked with issues of critical importance — including the safety of our airways.

If Trump and his administration continue down this path we will all be less safe. We’ve got to do everything we can to stop him.

Please, join VoteVets in denouncing Donald Trump for this dereliction of duty. The only way we can force his administration to reverse course is by joining together, raising our voices, and forcing them to act.
