“Anti-abortion leaders aren’t bothering to hide their hate. 🔥🔥🔥”
Reproaction Co-Founder, President and CEO Erin Matson
on Calvin Robinson’s Nazi Salute at the “National Pro-Life Summit”
In response to the Nazi salute given by speaker Calvin Robinson at the National Pro-Life Summit that led to him being defrocked from the priesthood, Reproaction co-founder, president, and CEO Erin Matson released the following statement:
“The forces of hatred and white supremacy have long underpinned the anti-abortion agenda. Last week, Patriot Front brought a group to March for Life once again.
Then, Calvin Robinson was defrocked by the Anglican Catholic Church for his Nazi salute at the Students for Life of America National Pro-Life Summit last weekend. The ACC said, ‘While we cannot say what was in Mr. Robinson’s heart when he did this, his action appears to have been an attempt to curry favor with certain elements of the political right.’
Here’s what Mr. Robinson said just before he gave that Nazi salute:
‘I’m so pleased and encouraged when I come out here and I see … you have your president and your vice president making speeches at a rally for life … This I see as the last stand for the West, this is the last stand for Christendom, it’s make-or-break-time. The whole of the old world is crumbling. Every country in Europe is embracing death. America as far as I can see is the only country fighting for life. And that’s down to you guys, so God bless all of you for what you’re doing, please keep doing it. I hope that I, I can encourage you, and my heart goes out to you.’
At this point, he gave the salute, and the crowd laughed and cheered.
Not subtle.
But let’s take a step back and consider who gave Mr. Robinson this platform to spread his hate. The so-called National Pro-Life Summit is put on by Students for Life of America, which is actually a multi-million dollar anti-abortion lobby group closely associated with Leonard Leo.
Though she graduated from college 20 years ago, Kristan Hawkins is president of Students for Life of America and is paid hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to push legislation to ban abortion, contraception, and IVF. This woman knows exactly what she is doing and why she is doing it.
I would like for you to see with your own eyes Ms. Hawkins’ initial online reaction to a video Mr. Robinson posted of his speech:
Also not subtle.
Some time after she posted those three fire emojis in support of this speech, Ms. Hawkins later turned to X to respond to what she called ‘the Fr. Calvin thing’ to make herself the victim, claiming, ‘I’ve been called a Nazi more times than I can count.’
Ms. Hawkins is not the victim here. Let’s be honest—what Mr. Robinson did was give a Nazi salute after giving a not-subtle speech. He knows it, Ms. Hawkins knows it, and the audience her organization assembled to give him a standing ovation knows it.
The hatred driving the push to ban abortion, contraception, and IVF knows no bounds. When people show you who they are, believe them.”
