There’s been a lot of confusing and concerning news out of Washington since Donald Trump’s inauguration. But this latest proposal [[link removed]] to tax the HOPE Scholarship is personal to me.

National Republicans are trying to raise taxes on students and families in Georgia who benefit from the HOPE Program, which has so far provided more than $15 billion to more than 2.1 million students.

I’m furious at this attempt to undercut the hopes and dreams of thousands of Georgia students. I will forever be “Jordan’s mom”—that means fighting against things that are bad for Georgia’s families. Can you chip in a donation before my end of month deadline to help? [[link removed]]

For decades, students in Georgia have known that if you worked hard in school and got good grades, the state would help you get through college and start a career.

But now, the GOP is coming after students who are seeking advancements through higher education.

Georgia needs its leaders to stand strong in the face of these selfish proposals from Republicans. I’m not willing to stay silent while our next generation suffers.
