Trump and his billionaire backers have declared an all out War on Truth. They’re coming after our independent media…eager to get it out of the way so they can easily spread disinformation AND rake in billions by sending us to the platforms they own to get our news.
“NO MORE FUNDING FOR NPR, A TOTAL SCAM!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. Musk quickly followed suit, labeling public media as “propaganda” and outlining clear plans to cut hundreds of millions in funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which funds NPR and PBS.
With a $30 million budget shortfall that’s already forced NPR to lay off staff, public media stations are not in a position to launch a massive campaign to save themselves.
