One way we can do that is to make Arizona more friendly for cryptocurrency! This is an issue of investment freedom; I'd like Arizona to be at the forefront of this revolution.
There's no reason we shouldn't be.
I've filed four bills related to crypto in the current session. I'm proud to announce that my Arizona Strategic Bitcoin Reserve bill has made it out of committee!
Crypto.news reports:
The Arizona Senate Finance Committee has approved SB1025, also known as the “Arizona Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Act.”
The Act was approved in a 5-2 vote. Co-sponsored by State Senator Wendy Rogers and Representative Jeff Weninger, the bill seeks to allow up to 10% of Arizona’s public funds, including state treasurer and retirement system reserves, to be invested in Bitcoin
The bill will now proceed to the Senate Rules Committee, which will establish guidelines for debate and potential amendments on the Senate floor. If approved by the full Senate, the bill will advance to the Arizona House of Representatives.
If passed into law, Arizona would become the first U.S. state to incorporate Bitcoin into its financial strategy. The proposed legislation includes measures for securely storing government Bitcoin holdings in segregated accounts, ensuring these digital assets are managed responsibly.
I think it's a great thing for Arizona to be on the forefront here; we can lead in crypto, and in doing so attract more investment to Arizona!
It's actually one of a few bills I have on crypto this year:
Arizona has some daunting problems. We will solve them by doing the right thing; and we will actually make Arizona a LEADER and attract investment by embracing the future- like cryptocurrency!
