New date for Northern D1!  My town hall at Pacific Highlands Ranch in Northern D1 will now be held on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025. I encourage residents to come to any or all of these town halls. I will reflect on the accomplishments of the past year, share goals for the year ahead, and then open the conversation to your questions and concerns. Hope to see you there!

We welcomed the Year of the Wood Snake in Council Chambers with a performance and traditional music from the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association - San Diego and Lucky Lion Dancers, sharing blessings of luck and prosperity. A special thanks to Council President Pro Tem Kent Lee for organizing this celebration. Happy Lunar New Year, San Diego!

I applaud Senator Catherine Blakespear for introducing Senate Bill 92, which improves our State Density Bonus Law. Closing this loophole will block bad actors from exploiting the law and ensure much-needed truly affordable housing is built in our City.

Calling Northern D1 residents 📢: Join Team LaCava, San Diego Fire-Rescue, and the Fire Safe Council of San Diego County next Thursday for a workshop on starting a Fire Safe Council in your neighborhood. These councils are a life- and property-saving resource for neighborhoods. Fire safety experts will also provide essential wildfire preparedness and prevention tips.

Last Friday, I was honored to swear in the 2025 Pacific Beach Town Council Board of Directors and Officers—Congratulations to all! This installation dinner also kicked off their annual community events; Graffiti Day Cleanup, P.A.E.S.A.N., and Concerts on the Green, much to look forward to.
