This is an administrative coup

Hi friend—

Since we reached out to you last about Trump’s plan to cut essential federal programs, initial public uproar has forced the administration to issue clarifications and prompted legal action.

This means your advocacy is working. At the same time, chaos and confusion alone continue to do damage, which means we can’t afford to let up and allow them to think we aren’t paying attention.

We need to mobilize and fight back fast, and one key thing you can do right now is to help us overwhelm Congress with messages. Urge your representatives in Congress today urging them stand up for working families and oppose these catastrophic cuts.

TAKE ACTION

Thanks for doing your part.

Subject: Federal funding freeze: Rally TODAY

Hi—

In his fervor to pursue every far right policy fantasy outlined in Project 2025—Trump just made cuts to federal funding, a move that could halt payments within days to states and households relying on essential programs for food aid, disaster relief, housing assistance, small business loans, education services, healthcare, climate initiatives…the list is long.

It’s an administrative coup—and frankly, blatantly illegal. By claiming power to halt funding that’s already been authorized by Congress, Trump is showing us that he won’t hesitate to throw the constitution out the window and the American economy into chaos in order to funnel more money to his billionaire friends.

This deeply cruel and reckless power grab must be called out, which is why our partners at the Climate Action Campaign are organizing a rally outside the White House TODAY, from 5 to 6 p.m. ET. Can you make it?

Across the country, millions of families, local governments, businesses, and community organizations count on federal grant funds which put food on the table, provide essential services, and safeguard the health and safety of our communities.

While it’s unlikely that this order will hold up in court, Trump’s willingness to pull the rug out from under the American people is a clear signal of the threat he poses to our country’s ability to work together to solve big challenges like climate change—and we shouldn’t stand for it.

Let’s show them that our movement is strong, united, and ready to defend what’s right.

In solidarity,

The Evergreen Action Team
