Call for Subject Matter Experts: Peer Review for Floorcovering Installer Program

SkilledTradesBC is seeking your support in identifying Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to participate in a peer review of the updated Floorcovering Installer Harmonized Level 1 & 2 SLEs and the Red Seal Exam.

Details of Engagement:

Purpose: To review and provide input on the updated program materials.
Dates: Tuesday, February 18, 2025, to February 21, 2025
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location: SkilledTradesBC, 8100 Granville Ave., Richmond, BC

SkilledTradesBC is seeking individuals who meet the following criteria:
  • At least 5 years of experience as a certified journeyperson with a Red Seal or Certificate of Qualification (those with less experience may be considered).
  • Currently working in the trade, either on the tools or in a supervisory role.
  • Industry experts (please note that instructors are not eligible to participate in this peer review).
By participating, you will help ensure the updated Floorcovering Installer program reflects the highest industry standards and supports the future of skilled trades in British Columbia. If you are interested in participating, please reach out to Camille McMillan Rambharat at Skilled Trades BC.

New First Aid Regulations Roll Out Across B.C.

The changes have the greatest impact on higher-risk, less accessible, and more remote workplaces. But employers across the province — from the smallest and simplest to the biggest and most multifaceted — are bound by the amendments to Part 3 of BC's Occupational Health and Safety Regulation that came into effect on November 1, 2024, underscoring the urgency and importance of compliance.
