Leadership is often about making tough decisions. As your last line of defense against extremist downtown Seattle policies, I work hard to make the tough decisions necessary to keep our neighborhoods safe and prosperous.

Not too long ago, when King County Officials proposed closing our youth jail and releasing violent rapists and murderers into unsecured respite homes in our communities, I made the decision to be a voice of reason against extremism. I fought back against that dangerous policy proposal with everything I had. After a lot of hard work, we succeeded in keeping our communities safe by reversing that disastrous proposal and passing legislation at the King County Council to keep the youth jail open!

But here’s the thing, it wasn’t just my decision to fight back against this policy that led to a victory for our communities. It was the courageous decision of many of my supporters, like you, standing up and voicing your support for my legislation that made the difference.
