Hey friend — We launched the 2024 California Environmental Scorecard yesterday and want to make sure you have a chance to check it out.
California faces some major challenges ahead, and it's more important than ever to hold our leaders to a high standard on climate. While we made some great progress last year with the largest climate funding initiative in California history by passing the $10 billion climate bond, we also saw rollbacks and delays on critical progress that stalled movement on climate action. Here’s where you come in, friend. The Scorecard isn’t just an education tool; it’s a tool for action. Take a moment to check out your representatives' grades and find out if they're leading the charge on climate action—or holding us back.
Then, give your legislators a call or email and let them know what you think of their scores. As their constituent, you have the power to hold your representatives accountable for making climate progress on your behalf. |

This is California's big call to action. It was a year of action with a key landmark victory: the passage of Proposition 4, which secured $10 billion for climate resilience, wildfire mitigation, clean energy, and conservation. But budget cuts, failed climate bills, and delayed policy implementation set climate progress back—and we saw the consequences firsthand as destructive and unnatural wildfires raged in California earlier this month.

The Scorecard press conference is starting at 10 AM today, friend!
In a few moments, I'll be joined by four Climate Action Caucus champions (Congressman Dave Min, Assemblymember Lori Wilson, Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia, and Assemblymember Dawn Addis) and previous Climate Action Caucus Champion Senator Ben Allen. We'll walk you through the Scorecard, reflect on California's climate actions in 2024, and discuss our priorities for 2025.
Will you join us to learn more about how California fared in 2024? |
