Texas Holocaust Remembrance Week was established by the Legislature in 2019 to acknowledge the Holocaust’s ongoing significance. There are four Holocaust museums in the state where you can learn more about this topic and reflect year-round:
Additionally, the Texas Holocaust, Genocide, and Antisemitism Advisory Commission has a variety of resources, including approved classroom education and stories of Texan survivors and liberators accessible anytime.

As part of the 80th anniversary of World War II, The National Museum of the Pacific War will host an Iwo Jima Commemoration to honor and remember those who served and sacrificed for our nation.
The three days of events will include a dedication, concert, and battle reenactment.
Don't forget: You can also visit the Iwo Jima Museum and Monument State Historic Site year-round at the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen.

A recent recipient, Louie Mueller Barbecue in Taylor, opened its doors in 1949. Described as a "cathedral of smoke," the joint was honored with the “American Classics” award by the James Beard Foundation, the first barbecue restaurant in the country to receive the honor.
Nominations are processed quarterly on February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1.
Real Places is where ideas and inspiration for preserving Texas history are born. Presented by the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission and Phoenix I Restoration and Construction, LLC, Real Places 2025 will feature over 100 expert speakers and more than 50 sessions, workshops, and tours all about historic preservation and heritage tourism.

Rockport Hosts the Smithsonian
