We are excited to welcome Rob Leis as the newest member of the It Gets Better Board of Directors!

Rob first connected with It Gets Better while working at Bath & Body Works, one of our long-time corporate partners. A career Project Manager dedicated to problem-solving and relationship-building, Rob is a Leadership Columbus 2023 graduate who is dedicated to using public institutions to uplift, support, and expand equity for marginalized communities.

As the founder and former president of Stonewall Sports – Columbus Chapter, Rob created a space for LGBTQ+ people to connect through sports and recreation. Under his leadership, the chapter thrived, and he helped expand the organization nationwide to 26 chapters. Rob has also served on the board of the Kaleidoscope Youth Center, the largest and longest-running organization in Ohio dedicated to serving and supporting LGBTQIA+ youth, further underscoring his dedication to building community and advancing equity.

“Community and empowerment have always been at the heart of my work, and I’m honored to join the board of It Gets Better, an organization that deeply understands how vital a peer network of support and access to resources are for young LGBTQ+ people finding their way in the world,” Rob said. “Queer youth need adult allies and support systems now more than ever, and I’m excited to work with an organization that creates opportunities for LGBTQ+ youth to thrive and know they are never alone.”

Currently the Senior Program Manager for NetJets, Rob brings a wealth of expertise, passion, and vision to our board. We’re thrilled to have him as part of the It Gets Better family as we continue our mission to uplift, empower, and support LGBTQ+ youth around the globe.
