New ADL/Hillel Report. Eighty-three percent of Jewish college students have experienced or witnessed some form of antisemitism since the 10/7 Hamas attacks, according to a

new survey by ADL, Hillel International and College Pulse.

Moreover, more than a quarter of Jewish students surveyed said they had observed antisemitic activity by faculty. The survey also found that two-thirds of Jewish students were not confident in their university’s ability to prevent antisemitic incidents, and 41 percent of Jewish students felt the need to hide their Jewish identity. These findings underscore the urgent need for university leaders to take action to and protect Jewish students.

Data from the new report.

Rutgers. The student government of Rutgers University

voted against adopting the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism. The decision followed arguments from anti-Israel protestors who claimed the definition conflates criticism of Israel with antisemitism.
[link removed]
The IHRA definition, widely accepted by governments and institutions worldwide, explicitly includes examples of modern antisemitism, such as denying Israel’s right to exist. This comes just weeks after the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights

settled with Rutgers on Title VI concerns for likely failing to adequately address antisemitic harassment.

Pediatric Medicine. A coalition of Jewish groups is calling for the

American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) to retract a letter the academy wrote in support of a Gazan doctor who the Jewish groups say is affiliated with the terrorist group Hamas. The AAP represents pediatricians in the U.S. and its mission includes the education of students and health professionals pursuing pediatric medicine. ADL and other members of the coalition are calling for AAP to take steps including stating clearly that the organization “does not condone terrorism” and training AAP leadership about antisemitism and anti-Zionism.

Long Overdue. A

trove of books that Nazi Germany had looted from Jews during the Holocaust is finally being categorized and preserved at Brandeis University, which ended up with more of these books than any other institution after WWII.
[link removed]
The books, ranging from popular novels to chemistry texts to prayer books, can shed light on a lost community. As Brandeis librarian Rachel Greenblatt said, "The books, in some ways, it feels to me that they have a soul.” This effort comes at a timely moment, since the books can serve as witness of a sort to the catastrophe of the Holocaust even as the last living Survivors age.

Empower and Educate.

An op-ed by Aya Schecter of the Israeli-American Council makes a robust argument that antisemitism is not just a Jewish issue—it threatens the very ideals of democracy, justice and inclusion that define America. The rise in antisemitic incidents, particularly in schools and on college campuses, underscores the urgent need for action. Strengthening Holocaust education, enhancing digital literacy to combat misinformation and fostering interfaith alliances can help equip the next generation to challenge hate. By amplifying personal narratives and uniting diverse communities, we can turn this crisis into an opportunity for change.

100 worst foods in the world, and Israel somehow managed to snag two spots—what an honor! Yerushalmi Kugel, the beloved sweet, caramelized noodle dish ranked 33rd worst food in the world and was also named the world’s worst casserole. And Orez Shu’it, a humble Sephardic dish comprised of white beans in tomato sauce with rice, was ranked 35th worst food in the world and also Israel’s worst side dish. Kol hakavod to both dishes on receiving these prestigious rankings.

massive initiative that provided aid to Syrians affected by that battered country’s civil war between 2016 and 2018. Led by Lt. Col. (res.) Eyal Dror, the initiative helped thousands of Syrians, including civilians and rebel fighters, by offering medical treatment, food, clothing and other essentials. Despite the risks, Israeli forces worked with Syrian rebel militias, both for humanitarian and security purposes.
