Be brave with us, we all need some hope!

Hello Friend,

With the uncertainties we're facing in the world today,
it's easy to feel down and a bit cynical, maybe even fearful.
But here's the thing: right now, I'm inviting you to grab onto hope
and join us in the work to make a difference in communities all across
the country.

Hope makes us powerful. And if there's anything we learned in
2024, it's that we can achieve a great deal when we work together. We
racked up some impressive stats over the past 12 months, averaging one
land protection closing a week, conserving nearly 80,000 acres, and
opening 19 community schoolyards across the country.

You can help accomplish so much more this year when you start your
annual membership with Trust for Public Land. As a token of our
gratitude, we'll send you an exclusive TPL "Protect Public
Land" magnet, while supplies last.

If you need an example of what happens when we rally around hope, look
no further than Tiburon Ridge in California. Over 30 years in the
making and representing a momentous conservation and community
milestone, this pristine 110-acre ridgetop property is now protected.
With breathtaking views of the Bay Area, Tiburon Ridge enhances
recreational access, climate resilience, wildlife corridors, and
scenic beauty in the region.

The protection of this property represented the literal last chance to
save this land from the construction of 43 large homes, which would
have forever altered the character and natural beauty of the Tiburon
Peninsula. Thanks to a great collaboration with our partners, this
iconic landscape will be safeguarded from development forever.

But wait, there's more! Thanks, in part, to the unwavering support of
our sustaining members, we're on track to make history with a HUGE
project to return land to Indigenous stewardship while safeguarding
public access.

Trust for Public Land has acquired a massive tract of land in the
Katahdin region of Maine, aiming to give back nearly 30,000 acres to
the Penobscot Nation. We're talking about a historic handover, the
largest land return between a U.S.-based nonprofit and a tribal nation
ever.

This isn't just a land deal; it's a love letter to the land and its
people. This transformative endeavor not only signifies a
significant step towards righting historical wrongs but also stands as
a beacon of hope, demonstrating the power of collaboration and
collective action.

When you start your annual membership gift to Trust for Public Land,
it's not just a recurring gift; it's a commitment to hope for a better
future full of vibrant green spaces to experience the wonders of
nature.

Hope isn't just a feeling; it's a force that pushes us to action. It's
the heart of the work we're doing now and the excitement of what's
ahead. Thanks for being a part of it.

Sincerely,
Joshua VanDavier
