Greetings John,
Last October, I had the pleasure to meet the MCV team and many supporters – including some of you – as the featured speaker at the Evening for the Environment. I’m excited to follow up on the work I am doing as a lawyer with Our Children’s Trust, an organization working to secure legal rights to a safe climate for young people and future generations, on tomorrow’s online Lunch & Learn program happening from 12-1pm.
I’ll be joined by two incredible youth plaintiffs:
* Rylee Brooke , plaintiff in Navahine v. Hawai ‘ i Department of Transportation
* Miko Vergun , plaintiff in Juliana v. United States

Together, we’ll explore the world of youth-led climate litigation, sharing stories from the frontlines of groundbreaking legal cases. These courageous young leaders will talk about their experiences—their challenges, victories, and the impact of standing up for future generations to demand meaningful climate action from governments.
As someone who has spent my career advocating for climate justice in the courtroom, I continue to be inspired by the resilience of young plaintiffs like Rylee and Miko. Their work, including their recent success in Held v. State of Montana , is helping to drive change not just in the U.S. but across North America and beyond.
I hope you’ll join us online tomorrow to hear firsthand how these youth-led legal efforts are making a difference!
Phil
