Donald Trump Signs Laken Riley Act
Free Beacon: The law requires federal immigration authorities to detain illegal migrants accused of theft, burglary, or assaulting a law enforcement officer, and allows states to sue the Department of Homeland Security for harm caused by illegal immigration. The act is named after a 22-year-old Georgia nursing student who was murdered in February 2024 by a Venezuelan illegal immigrant with multiple prior arrests, including for shoplifting and child endangerment. The legislation is part of a broader Republican push to strengthen border security following record-high illegal crossings. Under the Biden administration, an estimated 8 million migrants entered the United States illegally, and more than 13,000 migrants convicted of murder remain at large ( Free Beacon). Graham Allen: My heart is absolutely broken for Laken Riley family. I will always be praying for them ( X). Katie Pavlich: The Laken Riley Act is officially the law of the land ( X).

Trump Issues Executive Order to End Indoctrination in Schools
White House: Parents trust America’s schools to provide their children with a rigorous education and to instill a patriotic admiration for our incredible Nation and the values for which we stand. In recent years, however, parents have witnessed schools indoctrinate their children in radical, anti-American ideologies while deliberately blocking parental oversight. Such an environment operates as an echo chamber, in which students are forced to accept these ideologies without question or critical examination. In many cases, innocent children are compelled to adopt identities as either victims or oppressors solely based on their skin color and other immutable characteristics… These practices not only erode critical thinking but also sow division, confusion, and distrust, which undermine the very foundations of personal identity and family unity ( White House). Charlie Kirk: President Trump has officially signed the “Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling” executive order This makes the last 12 years of work at Turning Point USA all worth it ( X).
