Protecting Religious Freedom: PJI Opposes Montana State Bill 139
Defending Sacred Trust and Church Tradition

Montana’s Senate Bill 139 threatens to strip clergy of their sacred duty to confidentiality, requiring them to report private-penitential confessions or face felony charges.
We believe this bill violates the First Amendment and undermines religious freedom. It forces faith leaders into an impossible choice: break their sacred vows or risk prosecution. This attack on religious liberty sets a dangerous precedent that could ripple far beyond Montana.
