This morning marked Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s first confirmation hearing to be Trump's Secretary of Health & Human Services. I pressed RFK Jr. on his long history of spouting conspiracy theories, which is disqualifying for anyone seeking public office, but especially for someone nominated to be the highest health official in America.
Here’s what we learned about where RFK Jr. stands:
– RFK Jr. believes COVID-19 is a genetically engineered bio-weapon used to target Black and White people while sparing Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese people.
– RFK Jr. believes Lyme disease is highly likely a military-engineered bio-weapon.
– RFK Jr. believes exposing children to pesticides causes them to become transgender.
This isn’t a joke. Unlike other positions the Senate confirms, the job of the Health and Human Services Secretary is a matter of life and death. This matters too much to the kids and the families all across our country who can’t access basic health care and mental health services.
