Yesterday, voters in Northeast and Southeast Minneapolis elected RCV Democracy Champion Doron Clark as the newest Minnesota state senator! We congratulate Senator-elect Clark on his election and we look forward to working with him to protect our democracy and advance RCV at the state legislature. We also thank everyone who voted and all the candidates who stepped up to serve on such short notice.
This year there were 10 candidates in this race: eight from the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and two from the Republican Party. With so many candidates, this election is a case-in-point of the need for ranked choice voting in our legislative and statewide races. We’re excited to have a new senator that will work to make sure voters in future races can rank their favorite candidates!
The SD60 seat that Doron fills was vacated by the passing of Senator Kari Dziedzic. We look forward to helping him honor her legacy by continuing her fight for a more democratic Minnesota for everyone.
