That’s the question Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer had for Mitch McConnell, who just shot down the $3 trillion relief package passed by the Democratic House, saying he felt no “urgency” to act and would rather wait and see what happens.
Here’s what’s happening now: America has a 14.7% unemployment rate that the White House says could go as high as 20% by June. State, local, and tribal governments are starving for aid anywhere they can get it. And Senate Republicans chose to enjoy their long weekend.
