That’s the question Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer had for Mitch McConnell, who just shot down the $3 trillion relief package passed by the Democratic House, saying he felt no “urgency” to act and would rather wait and see what happens.
Here’s what’s happening now: America has a 14.7% unemployment rate that the White House says could go as high as 20% by June. State, local, and tribal governments are starving for aid anywhere they can get it. And Senate Republicans chose to enjoy their long weekend.
But all that considered, The Cook Political Report still predicts Mitch McConnell will keep his seat in 2020. It’s possible his failure to act will change that, but only if voters make their voices heard. Please, tell us now:
