Hi there,
As we head towards the end of January, I’m thinking about earlier this month when Maura delivered her second State of the Commonwealth Address. In it, she laid out her plan to keep our momentum going in 2025.
Yes, she talked about some of the progress we’ve made so far — and there’s been a lot of it.
Just this morning , the U.S. Department of Education ranked Massachusetts #1 across all categories on the 2024 National Assessment for Educational Progress, otherwise known as the Nation’s Report Card.

We are ranked #1 for education, #1 for innovation, and #1 for healthcare. Last year, Massachusetts was ranked #1 in median household income in the country.
Maura signed our state’s first tax cuts in over 20 years. In the first year alone, 64,000 seniors got an average of $1,000 back and more than half a million families got $310 per child or dependent adult, which will go up to $440 this year.
Maura has delivered on universal schools meals, free community college, and the HERO Act, our most far-reaching veteran's legislation ever. Her MBTA has removed over 220 speed restrictions, replacing 250,000 feet of rail to make commutes quicker, safer, and more reliable. She passed the Affordable Homes Act, building or saving 65,000 homes — the most ambitious legislation to address housing costs in Massachusetts history.
Here in Massachusetts, we’re leading with our values. We’re putting people over politics, protecting civil rights and our most vulnerable, and investing in our communities. And it’s working.
We’re showing America that you get a lot more done when you lift people up instead of tearing people down.
We’re refusing to kick the can down the road when it comes to our biggest challenges, and building a better future.
There’s a better way forward, and Massachusetts is proof.
Just as we’ve done for hundreds of years, Massachusetts is lighting the way. And under Maura and Kim, we’re going to keep it up.
We have a lot to get done in 2025, and I’d love to be able to let Maura know that we started off the year strong. If you’re able to help us close the gap on our January Grassroots Fundraising Goal, I would really appreciate any support. You can track our progress live by clicking on the thermometer below.

Thank you for reading. We’ve gotten a lot done, and we have so much left to do. We have an opportunity to show America what happens when you lead with hope, not fear.
Let’s get after it.
