AFSCME Family,
The attacks on working people and unions have begun.
The new administration wants to freeze federal money that helps communities, including billions of dollars which fund AFSCME jobs and the services we provide.
This is an attack straight out of Project 2025, throwing our communities into chaos, bringing public services to a screeching halt and hurting the most vulnerable Americans.
Mothers and babies on nutrition assistance, people who depend on Medicaid, and folks who rely on housing assistance to keep a roof over their heads. These are the people they’re targeting.
The White House claims essential programs such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid aren’t on the chopping block, but some websites recently went dark.
And it's only the beginning.
We can soon expect that the architect of Project 2025, Russell Vought, will be named director of the Office of Management and Budget. His name or title may not be familiar to you, but this spells danger for our communities.
Under his radical agenda, federal, state and local budgets, which fund the work we do, would be decimated even further. These anti-union extremists want to destroy public services, causing lasting damage to our communities.
AFSCME family, we need to let them know that we’re not going to let that happen. We’ve already filed a lawsuit to push back on their attempt to turn the federal public service from a workforce of dedicated professionals to one filled with political cronies, and we’re not stopping there.
We’ve been down this road before, and we know the best way to fight back is to Get Organized.
Sign up to join the fight to protect our jobs, freedoms and futures.
In solidarity,
AFSCME
