![]() I’ve always believed there is more that unites us as Americans than divides us. No matter what political party you vote for, we all want the same basic things: We want strong schools and safe communities. We want good-paying jobs. And we want the opportunity to not just get by, but to get ahead. And while we may disagree on how to achieve those goals, here in Pennsylvania, we understand that moving our Commonwealth forward doesn’t happen through blind partisanship and extremism. It only happens when we get together, find common ground, and understand that many of our priorities are aligned. After all, that’s how we’ve solved problems, cut taxes for families, grown our economy, and reduced costs for all Pennsylvanians in the last two years. But at the same time, I will always defend Pennsylvanians’ fundamental freedoms from any politician who seeks to take them away. The people of Pennsylvania elected me to uphold our shared values, John — the values of freedom, opportunity, equality, and justice for all. Those are the principles that have guided my leadership since my very first day in office. I want you to know that no matter what you look like, where you come from, who you love, or who you pray to, you have a place here in Pennsylvania. As Governor, it’s my responsibility to build a Commonwealth where opportunities are expanded, real freedoms are protected, and Pennsylvanians from all walks of life feel welcomed. No matter what distractions Washington sends our way in the future, I will remain focused on that fundamental responsibility.
Thank you, Josh Shapiro |
