Major news: Iowa Democrats flipped not one – but TWO – seats in yesterday’s special election!

This is a huge win for Mike Zimmer, Ritchie Kurtenbach, and Iowans everywhere. We’ve made the Republican Senate majority just a bit narrower, and elected a Democrat as Black Hawk County’s Supervisor.

Let’s be clear, the credit for these victories goes to Mike, Ritchie, our county parties, and activists on the ground. Our job is to keep providing them with support to do the work to keep getting great Democrats elected.

After a tough loss in November, last night was a sign of what’s to come. We are not defeated, the future is bright, and IDP is fired up to roll out our Forward: Victory 2026 plan to elect even more Democrats up and down the ballot.
