In just one week, Donald Trump has launched a full-scale attack on the progress we’ve made for affordable healthcare. On Monday, he signed an executive order reversing a vital initiative by President Biden that tested ways to lower prescription drug prices and expanded access to cutting-edge cell and gene therapies for Medicaid recipients.
As a doctor for over twenty years, I worked to improve the availability and affordability of health care for my patients, and I saw firsthand the heartbreak families felt when they struggled to afford the medications they needed. In Congress, I’ve always fought for affordable healthcare because I believe that no one should have to suffer due to skyrocketing drug prices or lack of access to care.
