Hi friend, I’m Dr. Amy Acton. I’m a Democrat running for Governor of Ohio, and I want to tell you a little bit about my story and why I’m in this race.

I grew up in Youngstown under some pretty tough circumstances. I know what it’s like to worry about the cost of putting food on the table, where my brother and I would sleep at night, or how we would stay warm. At times I felt invisible – and I know that too many Ohioans feel the same way right now.

Right now, Ohioans are struggling with the rising costs of groceries, childcare, healthcare, and other expenses. I feel the uneasiness and uncertainty that so many are experiencing in their daily lives. We all deserve a little breathing room.

I’m running for Governor because I refuse to look away from Ohioans who are struggling, while self-serving politicians and special interests take our state in the wrong direction.

Together, we can build the Ohio we dream of:

* An Ohio that empowers local communities to build their future
* An Ohio where your zip code doesn’t determine your success
* An Ohio with good-paying jobs, high quality schools, safe neighborhoods and thriving businesses where people can raise their families, and lead a happy and healthy life

But we have to put politics aside and work together to fix our state.

I’m ready to get to work for Ohioans as Governor and I’m asking you to join me.

We’ve set a goal to raise $50,000 in the next 24 hours. Will you please split a contribution between iVote and my campaign before midnight? Your support will go a long way in this fight for our future → [[link removed]]

iVote was created in 2014 with one goal: secure voting rights for all Americans.

Rather than take on challenges in the court after unfair laws have passed, iVote plays defense on voter suppression efforts AND goes on offense to secure and expand access to voting.

Going on offense is critical. We have the chance to elect Secretaries of State that will protect our elections for years to come. But Republicans are already suppressing and blocking certain citizens from exercising their fundamental right to vote.

We need a massive coalition to register new voters and protect our right to vote in this election and beyond.

We know you get a lot of emails, but it's only because this fight is so important. We need you to stick with us long term. But if you must go, you can unsubscribe.
