Today, the Senate began hearings on one of the most reckless nominations in modern history. Donald Trump has put forward Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Department of Health and Human Services — a con artist who has built his career attacking vaccines, spreading misinformation, and undermining public health.

He has called for eliminating key public health agencies, dismissed decades of scientific research, and made millions peddling outright lies. And now, Trump wants to hand RFK Jr. the keys to our nation’s healthcare system.

More than 17,000 medical professionals and public health experts have already warned that confirming RFK Jr. would be a disaster for public health and a slap in the face to the entire medical profession. Science should not be a partisan issue. Public health should not be up for debate. And RFK Jr. should not be anywhere near the leadership of HHS.
