For Democrats, nothing says “justice” like letting the governor’s office handpick which cops to prosecute!

Democrats’ Never-Ending Crusade for More Power—Now They Want to Control Police Prosecutions
Washington Democrats are back at it, trying—again—to create a state-run prosecutor for police use-of-force cases. The last time they pushed this, even Bob Ferguson and Jay Inslee admitted it was a conflict of interest, but now that Ferguson is governor, suddenly it’s all fine! This time, they want to stick it in the governor’s office, because what could go wrong with making police prosecutions a political tool? County prosecutors and law enforcement groups are still pushing back, arguing that this move strips local control and undermines due process. And in a year where Democrats are already scrambling to cover their budget disasters, the bill’s $12.7 million price tag might be a tough sell. But that won’t stop them from trying—because when it comes to consolidating power, cost and conflicts of interest are just pesky details. Read more at the Washington State Standard.

Washington Democrats’ Newest Climate Scapegoat: Cows
Just when you thought Democrats couldn’t find another way to squeeze farmers, they’re now trying to tax cow farts. House Bill 1630 would force dairy farms and feedlots to report methane emissions, potentially subjecting them to the same disastrous Climate Commitment Act that already spiked gas prices. Farmers are already struggling under sky-high costs and burdensome regulations, but Democrats want to add even more taxes in the name of “climate justice.”
Meanwhile, the state’s so-called exemption for farm fuel costs has been a total disaster. Small and mid-sized farms that buy fuel from retail stations are still getting overcharged because the system Democrats promised would protect them simply doesn’t work. Instead of taking responsibility, state agencies are busy pointing fingers at each other. GOP Rep. Chris Corry summed it up perfectly, comparing it to the Spider-Man meme: “A lot of agencies pointing at the other agencies saying, ‘That’s not our job.’” But rather than fix their broken policies, Democrats would rather turn cows into their next environmental villain. Democrats Muzzle Debate, Then Claim There’s “No Room” for Protests—How Convenient!
Democrats in Olympia just made it easier to silence debate, and Republicans aren’t having it. In a blatant power grab, House Democrats scrapped a 130-year-old rule requiring a two-thirds majority to end a filibuster—because, heaven forbid, they face real discussion. When Pierce County Republicans planned a dramatic protest (complete with black tape over their mouths), the state conveniently “ran out of space” for their permit, despite allowing over 1,300 others to gather. No worries, though—permit or not, they’re showing up anyway. After all, if Democrats are this desperate to shut people up, that’s all the more reason to speak out. Read more at Center Square.

Biden’s NEH Funds $247K “Research” Project to Document Transgender Seniors in Rural Washington—Because That’s a Priority?
In one of its final taxpayer-funded giveaways, the Biden administration handed nearly $250K to Central Washington University to document the “TransRural” experiences of transgender seniors across the Pacific Northwest. As KTTH’s Jason Rantz reports, this “research” mostly involves collecting personal stories and putting them on a website—because apparently, that’s what qualifies as scholarship these days. The project, led by leftist professors with a clear agenda, will also create classroom guides to ensure this critical (!) knowledge makes its way into schools. While Washington’s budget crumbles and rural communities struggle with real issues, Democrats think this is where your tax dollars should go. Maybe next time they can fund a study on why voters are getting sick of this nonsense. Read more at KTTH.

Washington’s Worst Bills of the Session – A Hall of Shame
Brandi Kruse has compiled a list of the ten worst bills being pushed by Washington Democrats this session, and it’s a real showcase of bad ideas. From reducing sentences for gun criminals to eroding parental rights, these proposals hit all the low points of left-wing policymaking. They want to bring back rent control (HB 1217), tax guns and ammo at 11% (HB 1386), and even make homelessness a legally protected class (HB 1380). Meanwhile, they’re eyeing an increase in property taxes (HB 1334) and pushing for permits just to purchase a firearm (HB 1163). And if you rely on a wood stove? SB 5174 would ban those, too.
These bills aren’t just bad—they’re a roadmap to higher taxes, weaker public safety, and more government overreach. Check out the full list, make your voice heard, and let your legislators know Washingtonians are paying attention. Read more at Brandi Kruse’s Patreon.
