Good news!  I am so pleased to share with you that rising star, Amanda Cappelletti, the candidate that I have endorsed for Pennsylvania’s 17^th Senatorial District, has just received the Philadelphia Inquirer’s endorsement!

As the Inquirer’s editorial board notes, Amanda brings an impressive resume and accomplishments to this important SE PA senatorial seat. In a timely combination, Amanda brings a Masters in Public Health and experience as Director of Policy for Planned Parenthood to the table.  But she needs our help to win the primary. 

Amanda is in a head to head race with incumbent Daylin Leach.  In the past two years, Leach’s former legislative achievements have been completely undermined by allegations of sexual misconduct and, equally as important, his response to those allegations, including law suits against his accusers, media outlets, etc.  As the Inquirer reports:

"Senate leadership called on him to resign. … Leach has lost the support of his party, his governor, and many of his colleagues. It is hard to envision him being able to form the coalitions needed to effectively represent his constituents. Leach was forced to resign from the State Judiciary Committee in February of 2019, and has been excluded from the Democratic caucus. The 17^th, therefore, has no representation in the PA State Senate."
