Polluters are taking over. We have to fight back.

John —

Donald Trump is turning the Environmental Protection Agency into a polluter’s paradise — stacked with chemical industry insiders and corporate lawyers who are more interested in profits than protecting public health.

If we want to stop Trump from sacrificing our health for corporate profits, we need to act now. Donate today to power our work and elect climate leaders who will protect us.

Meet Nancy Beck and Lynn Ann Dekleva — two chemical industry insiders who served in Trump’s first administration and are now returning to senior roles at the EPA to oversee critical regulations.

Beck, a former executive at the American Chemistry Council, spent her last stint at the EPA rewriting rules to weaken protections against asbestos — a deadly carcinogen — and “forever chemicals” known as PFAS, which are linked to cancer and birth defects.

Dekleva, who spent more than three decades at DuPont, a chemical giant infamous for its role in PFAS contamination, used her prior EPA role to push employees into approving harmful new chemicals while retaliating against those who raised concerns.

Then there’s David Fotouhi, Trump’s nominee for deputy EPA administrator. As a lawyer, he represented corporate polluters and fought to overturn bans on asbestos, PFAS regulations, and federal protections for wetlands and streams. If confirmed, he’ll help lead an EPA bent on rolling back Biden-era protections that forced corporations to clean up toxic contamination and protect our drinking water.

Let’s be clear: PFAS (aka “forever chemicals”) are some of the most dangerous substances on the planet. They don’t break down in the environment, they leach into our drinking water, and they accumulate in our bodies over time. These toxic substances are found in countless everyday products, including nonstick cookware, stain-resistant fabrics, waterproof clothing, food packaging, and even cosmetics.

Exposure to PFAS has been linked to cancer, liver damage, infertility, and developmental harm to children. And the danger doesn’t stop with PFAS. Right now, there are more than 80,000 chemicals on the market — many of them unregulated — and the companies responsible for this pollution are spending millions to avoid accountability.

We can’t afford to wait — Trump’s attacks on public health will hit frontline communities the hardest. These are families already dealing with contaminated drinking water and toxic pollution in their backyards. We need to act now to elect state and local leaders who will fight back and protect those most at risk.

In 2024, you helped us elect dozens of climate champions across the country — from Michigan to Minnesota to Virginia — who are leading the fight to hold polluters accountable and clean up PFAS contamination in their communities. But with Trump’s allies back in power, our work has never been more urgent.

Chip in $5, $25, or whatever you can today to power this fight. Every dollar goes directly toward electing leaders who will reject corporate greed, hold the line on public health protections, and keep our communities safe from the toxic legacy of Trump’s EPA.
