John, the news cycle today moves at warp-speed. This has felt especially true for me these past two weeks.
I went from marching in solidarity with people in DC, grieving a major blow against democracy with the Trump inauguration, and having complicated feelings about the anniversary of Roe v Wade. Although it was a major win for abortion rights, I know it was never enough to ensure access for everyone… and now we don't even have those protections.
In the past two weeks, past, present and future collided.
In the past, there's Roe—a critical stepping stone and also never enough. The future is bound up with a fascist regime. And in the present, I feel rooted in our mission among a community of people willing to take to the streets, engage in difficult conversations, donate their time, money, and energy to creating a better future for all of us.
With this perspective, I'm energized to keep up the fight, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. I hope you'll join me with a gift today.
In solidarity,
Nourbese Flint
President
P.S. Our fight isn't about fighting for the rights we had, and then lost—it's about building something new, something better, for all of us. You can help us create a future in which everyone has access to abortion care by making a gift today.
