Donald Trump's nomination of Kash Patel as the next FBI Director threatens
public safety and the rule of law.

Patel's dangerous record speaks for itself:

* He claims he would shut down the FBI headquarters on day one and
"reopen it the next day as a museum of the 'deep state.'"
* Patel's nomination is backed by gun rights extremist groups like Gun
Owners of America, with the hope he'll bring a "reckoning" to the FBI.
* He started a foundation to help defend the extremists who attacked the
Capitol.
* Above all, Patel is a Trump loyalist. He's published a list of 60
enemies he's promised to go after, including officials who have stood
up against Trump to defend our democracy. He even authored a series of
children's books in which Trump is a "king" who must defeat a plot
against him with the help of a wizard named Kash.

The FBI's mission is to protect the public from violent crime, including
gun violence. But that's not what Patel would do if he's confirmed.
Instead, he'd prioritize the gun lobby's "guns everywhere" agenda and use
his position to retaliate against Trump's adversaries.

The FBI needs a director who understands the FBI's responsibility to
protect our communities and save lives.
