Email from Rep. Mann Message from Rep. Tracey Mann. Having Trouble Viewing? Click Here. Fellow Kansan, Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter! After a few busy weeks of session and introducing legislation to roll back President Biden's burdensome regulations, the House is in recess for a district work period. During the first half of the week, Republicans will convene with President Trump for our Republican Issues Conference. Back in Kansas, I will attend events in Douglas and Saline counties. For more information on what I'm working on this week, follow me on social media. I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America— I serve to fight and work to make it stronger. That’s what I am doing while believing our brightest days are yet to come. Yours in service, Click below to follow me on social media. Mann.House.Gov The Week Ahead I joined House Republicans in meeting with President Trump yesterday afternoon at the Republican Issues Conference. We discussed his agenda and how we will work with his administration to get our country back on track. We agreed, we need to make the 2017 Trump tax cuts permanent, continue fighting to secure the border, and aggressively roll back policies and regulations that stifle American energy independence. After the conference, I'll head back home just in time for Kansas Day! On January 29, 1861, after years of debate, President James Buchanan approved a constitution under Congress’ Kansas-Nebraska Act, and the little settlement in the middle of the country, its heartland, became the 34th state of the union. 164 years has never looked better. Meetings in the District Kansas Sorghum Producers Kansas Commodity Classic Lawrence Chamber 2025 Annual Meeting Delivering America's Mandate It's a new day in America! On November 5, 2024, 77 million Kansans and Americans gave Washington, D.C. a mandate to restore commonsense solutions to our nation’s capital and get our country back on track. Last week, I spoke on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to discuss this mandate and how we can deliver for the country. America made it clear: Our Constitutional rights are not up for grabs. We need more Kansas values and commonsense solutions in our nation's capital. It's time for Congress to get our fiscal house in order and make our government efficient again. We must restore the American dream. I look forward to working with President Trump to deliver on this mandate in the 119th Congress. Check out my full speech here Congratulations Chiefs Kingdom! Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs and Chiefs Kingdom on another AFC championship! I'm looking forward to bringing another Lombardi trophy back to Arrowhead here in a few weeks. Thanking Kansas Troops Accomplishing President Trump’s mission of peace through strength starts with defending our homeland. Audrey and I are praying for the safety and wellbeing of the 200 Kansas troops being deployed to the southern border. Thank you for keeping our nation safe. God bless our troops and their families. Protecting Survivors of Botched Abortions Every life, born or unborn, has value and is worthy of protection. Sadly, not everyone accepts that truth. That's why I cosponsored and supported the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act. Our bill requires that health care practitioners exercise the same degree of care to preserve the life and health of a child who survives an abortion. It is mind blowing to me that anyone could look at a child who survives a botched abortion and declare that life unworthy. I will always defend the right to life, and I am grateful to see this bill passed in the U.S. House of Representatives. I am proud to advocate for the life and dignity of every child. Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act Defending the Second Amendment President Biden did everything in his power to weaponize the federal government against gun store owners in the Big First District of Kansas and across the country. His zero tolerance policy undermined the Second Amendment and trampled on the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens. Since day one, I have rigorously pushed back against this unconstitutional policy and fought for more oversight to rein in ATF’s abuse. Last week, I reintroduced the Reining In Federal Licensing Enforcement Act to make it clear—our constitutional rights are not up for grabs. My bill makes that crystal clear by fortifying the Second Amendment rights of local gun stores and seeking to restore a degree of wholeness to individuals whose livelihoods were destroyed by this federal abuse. I will not stop fighting to strengthen the protection of the Second Amendment, deliver justice for our Federal Firearm Licensees, and get our country back on track. RIFLE Act Delisting the Lesser Prairie-Chicken America’s farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers are the original conservationists of the land. For more than a decade, farmers, ranchers, private landowners, agricultural and energy producers have enacted voluntary conservation efforts to preserve the lesser prairie-chicken’s population. Despite these efforts increasing the population by more than 15,000, President Biden’s U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service ignored the facts and decided that the federal government is better equipped to manage these populations than local citizens. I introduced legislation to delist the lesser prairie-chicken from the threatened and endangered species list and to prohibit future efforts to relist it. My bill is the first step in rolling back burdensome regulations from the previous administration that handcuffed Americans. I look forward to working with President Trump and the DOGE Caucus to roll back these senseless regulations and to get our country back on track. Lesser Prairie-Chicken Blocking Taxpayer Dollars from Harming Poultry Producers American families have been clear about the weight that skyrocketing food prices and inflation have had on their ability to put food on their tables. Rather than coming up with real solutions to drive down costs and make life easier for Americans, President Biden dug his heels deeper in his war on rural America with costly, burdensome regulations, including his Salmonella framework. The framework disregards data from USDA that found Salmonella outbreaks have decreased 60% since 2020 and that more than 97% of whole chickens tested negative for Salmonella as recently as 2022. My bill blocks USDA from using taxpayer dollars to implement arbitrary science to burden American families, and it protects America’s livestock producers who work day in and day out to feed a hungry world. I will work with the Trump Administration around the clock to end bad, Biden-era nonsense like this. Salmonella Bill Announcing Committees for the 119th Congress During the 119th Congress, I will maintain my seats on the House Agriculture and House Transportation & Infrastructure committees, and maintain my role as Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee’s Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry. The Big First District of Kansas is one of the top agricultural districts in the country, and our farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers rely on a strong supply chain and infrastructure network to feed, fuel, and clothe the world. With reauthorizations like Surface Transportation, Water Resources Development, and a five-year Farm Bill on the legislative agenda this Congress, having a voice on the House Agriculture and the House Transportation and Infrastructure committees gives Kansans a direct seat at the table to advocate for sound policy that promote and maintain our way of life. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve another term on these committees and look forward to fighting for reasonable policy solutions that are so vital to Kansas’ economic activity and our livelihoods in rural America. View My Full Announcement In the Office Expanding Chiropractic Care for Medicare Patients Health care is not a one-size-fits-all policy solution, and we need flexibility in our health care system so that every Kansan can receive the care they need and deserve. During my visit with Kansas Chiropractic Association, we discussed the importance of expanding Medicare coverage to include all services provided by chiropractors rather than just spine adjustments. Thank you, Kansas Chiropractic Association for your leadership and for providing patients with the best approach to health and wellness available. Visiting Washington, D.C.?
