Dear Friend,
This month’s Conversations with Cardinal Burke will serve as a
wakeup call that we need to get back to business of saving souls.
The current COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed our daily
lives in so many ways. It has isolated us from one another, prevented
us from attending Holy Mass, from being in the real, physical presence
of Our Lord through the Holy Eucharist, receiving forgiveness through
Confession, and deprived us of many other forms of spiritual
nourishment offered by the treasury of our Catholic Faith.
With the disruption caused by the pandemic, we have taken time to
ask Cardinal Burke for his counsel and consolation for the faithful,
and many supporters of Catholic Action for Faith and Family have
expressed their deepest gratitude. We need to address the concerns of
the pandemic scare and continue to safeguard, defend and promote the
full Deposit of our Catholic faith.
This being said, we must be careful to remind ourselves that prior
to the pandemic outbreak, His Eminence expressed his concerns when he
stated, “without doubt, the Church is presently experiencing one of
the most serious crises that she has ever known.”
I am sure you will agree that amid the challenges brought on by the
pandemic, we must stay persistent in our fighting to defend our
Catholic Faith and not give into complacency regarding numerous issues
in the world today. Such issues include: unethical production of
vaccines, Chinese Catholics being persecuted by the Communist Party,
and American Catholics preparing to exercise their right to vote
according to Catholic Teaching in an upcoming national
election.
Please join this edition and upcoming editions of
Conversations as we bring back to the fore these critical issues as
well as many other issues regarding concerted efforts well underway
that are attempting to deconstruct truths that touch on the
foundations of our faith.
