Thanks to all of you who turned out to the People's Marches in Washington DC, and across the country!

Saturday, January 18, we showed up in a big way -- marching, rallying and connecting, alongside our movement partners, neighbors, and other Sierra Club supporters. Hundreds of thousands of people attended People's Marches across 300 local marches, and DC, where 75,000 weathered the cold wintry day to send a message that we're ready to show up to keep fighting for our future!

The mass mobilization was supported by dozens of organizations, with Sierra Club's Executive Director, Ben Jealous being the sole environmental leader speaking at the DC rally. Supporter, if you could use some inspiration, watch and listen to Ben's energizing speech here, along with other rally speakers from sponsoring organizations. You can see the full list of sponsor organizations here for a sense of the scale of the coalition.

Of course, this wasn't about just one day, or just this action. Even as people marched in DC and Sierra Club staff and volunteers poured countless hours organizing the March -- staff and volunteers kicked off state legislative lobbying sessions across the country, and local groups continued meeting and planning for their priorities for the year ahead. And we're continuing to build power and momentum for our movements over the long term. Whether you're interested in mass protest, state lobbying, or community organizing, there's a place for you to make your voice heard.

Nationally - Climate Action Hour, January 29:
Join our first Climate Action Hour Wed, Jan 29, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (EST) to get the latest updates on Trump's agenda and take meaningful action against it. These monthly interactive meetings will take place on Zoom, so you can join from wherever you live or work and take action alongside hundreds of other Sierra Club advocates. Long-Term Movement Building:
Want to stay informed, but not sure exactly how you’d like to get involved yet? Add your name to the Pledge to fight back against Trump's anti-climate agenda and we’ll keep you up to date on priority mobilizations.
Taking Care of Ourselves and Each Other: This is a really hard time, and we're up against a lot. Attending to our own well-being so that we don’t burn out is just as important as engaging activism. Take time to feel, and to rest. Spend time outside. Check-in on your loved ones. Drink water. Ask for help when you need it. The work will be here when you're ready. Let this moment be a reminder of the incredible impact we can achieve when we unite around a shared purpose. Together, we're ready to face the challenges ahead, protect the progress we’ve made, and continue fighting for a just and sustainable future.
