Hi team,
It’s been a week since Donald Trump was inaugurated as our 47th President. In that time, his administration has pardoned violent insurrectionists who attacked our Capitol and police officers on January 6th, and has threatened our allies with damaging tariffs that will drive up costs for working families.
That’s why we thought it would be a good time to remind ourselves of the four freedoms that have guided Michael’s career as we approach the end of the month (and prepare for the next four years).
Michael believes every American has the right to four essential freedoms:
The Freedom to Rise: By building an economy that works for everyone, not just the people at the top, and pulls children out of poverty.
The Freedom to Learn: By prioritizing and investing in our schools, educators, and students, not politicizing them.
The Freedom from Violence: By passing meaningful gun safety laws, fighting the opioid epidemic, and regulating the extremism we see on social media.
The Freedom to Govern Ourselves: By reforming our electoral system so our voices, not dark money, have the most power — and keeping the government out of our doctor's office and our bedrooms.
These are the values Michael fights for every day in the Senate, and they will guide our work moving forward.
We know we have some tough fights in front of us to protect and advance these freedoms this year, and we are going to need all the support we can get. If you are ready to join Michael in fighting for what matters, consider chipping in before our January fundraising deadline >>
