Stay safe on the ice this winter

Ice fishing — Green River

CHEYENNE — With temperatures below freezing across much of Wyoming, ice fishing season has begun. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department urges anglers to practice safety before venturing out on the ice. Ice on many waters may not be safe, especially with varying temperatures and wind conditions throughout the state.


Super Tag raffle deadline approaching

CHEYENNE — The Wyoming Super Tag raffle gives hunters an additional pathway to the hunt of a lifetime. Each year, 11 hunters win the opportunity to purchase a license to hunt iconic Wyoming species:  bighorn sheep, moose, elk, mountain goat, mule deer or white-tailed deer, wild bison, pronghorn, mountain lion, gray wolf and black bear are all eligible under Super Tag.


Game and Fish wins 16 awards from WPA

CHEYENNE — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department won 16 awards, including eight first-place honors, in the 2024 Wyoming Press Association’s Associates contest. The 16 awards earned the department the Best of WPA Award, which recognizes the associate member who won the most awards that year.
