So many of you told me that the climate is your top priority, and as the frequency and severity of natural disasters has continued to increase, we’re seeing the real consequences of the climate crisis in real time. That’s why two years ago, I cast my vote for historic investments in clean energy in order to set our country on course to meet its climate goals. And last year, I secured the passage of my bipartisan Fusion Energy Act, legislation that will help reduce our carbon footprint by promoting the development of fusion energy as an alternative to burning fossil fuels.

Many of you also listed gender equality as your #1 priority as well. With the attacks we’re seeing on women’s fundamental rights across the country, gender equality is in more danger than it has been for decades. That’s why I remain committed to preserving women’s reproductive rights that are under attack by the GOP and finally passing the Women’s Health Protection Act, a critical piece of legislation that would restore women's access to abortion care nationwide. I have also supported legislation that would close the gender pay gap and ensure that women have the same opportunities to succeed in the workplace as their men counterparts.
