At the end of this email, I’m going to ask you to chip in $3 to my re-election campaign, but first I feel like I owe you an explanation on why I’m asking and why your support already matters.

I know you may be thinking that it seems far too early to make a donation to a House campaign. (And if I were you, I’d probably be feeling the same way.)

But here’s the thing: Early money in competitive races like mine makes all the difference.

We have to start building our campaign operation and growing our warchest now in order to have a fighting chance of defeating the Republican challengers that come my way. Because, as we saw last November, the GOP and their far-right dark money groups will throw everything they’ve got at this race.

That’s why your early support is so important. Keeping this seat blue and retaking the House Majority won’t be easy, but I know we’ll have what it takes if we start planning now. Can you pitch in $3 today?
