John,
We're less than two weeks into the 89th Texas Legislative Session, and already the battle to protect our public schools begins. Tomorrow, the Senate Education Committee will hold a public hearing on SB 2, their proposed private school voucher bill.
A few things we want you to know about tomorrow, John:
* The Senate is moving quickly, but TFN expected as much — and we're on top of it. ✅ I'll be there tomorrow to testify against the bill and make sure the committee knows what Texans really want: for them to fund our neighborhood public schools, not divert tax dollars to unaccountable private and religious institutions.
* We are not asking you to come to the Capitol tomorrow. We'll keep you updated on when in-person mobilization will be most strategic.
* Until then, the best way you can help is by donating to our Rapid Response Fund [[link removed]] . No amount is too small — whether you can swing $5 or $500, your support will help us respond quickly and effectively, no matter what the Legislature throws our way.

Public dollars should stay with public schools, which educate the vast majority of Texas students. We've defeated voucher schemes session after session, and we can do it again with your support. We've got this! ✊🏼
In community,
