have his committee hearing in the Senate. Kash Patel is one of Trump’s
most dangerous nominees—he poses a real threat to our personal freedom,
the freedom of the press, and anyone Trump deems an “enemy.”

An author of books for MAGA-aligned adults and children, Kash Patel has
repeatedly reinforced the Big Lie about the 2020 election and demanded
loyalty to Donald Trump. His book “Government Gangsters” also includes a
long list of people he would like to see punished because of their
“disloyalty.” That list includes Republicans who stood in the way of Trump
overturning the 2020 election. Patel also urged the arrest of former
Attorney General Merrick Garland.^[1]

As the Director of the FBI, Patel would have the power to cause serious
harm to those he or Trump deems enemies to their MAGA agenda. This could
include anyone who attempts to resist their extremist priorities.

What’s more, he’s not qualified for a job of this magnitude. His resume is
light on government service—his most notable position was serving as Chief
of Staff to then Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller, a job he
held for only two months. Even former Trump Attorney General William Barr
has written, “Patel had virtually no experience that would qualify him to
serve at the highest level of the world’s preeminent law enforcement
agency.” ^[2]

We must protect our democracy from Patel’s threats and pursuit of
retribution. We must demand a Director of the FBI who will uphold the law,
not fight for Trump.
