Friend –
Last week, Donald Trump was officially inaugurated as President of the United States. Trump spent the last decade instilling fear and mistrust in our democracy, and one of his first actions as president was pardoning the over 1,500 people charged with crimes related to the January 6 insurrection, including those who were charged with assaulting police officers.
Trump is trying to rewrite the history of the January 6 insurrection, but we will not let that happen.
Trump's actions on day 1 of his presidency have sent the message: the election conspiracy era is far from over.
The shadow of Trump’s misinformation machine has attempted to erode the foundation of our country time and again. Now, as we watch the first 100 days of his presidency unfold, we must double down on our efforts to strengthen our democracy. From continuing to register eligible voters across the country, to getting involved in elections at every level and supporting candidates who will protect and defend the will of the people, our work does not stop.
If we’ve learned anything over the last eight years, it’s that we defend our rights by working together.
No matter what Trump attempts to do as president, I will continue to do my part in Colorado to keep our state a safe haven for women, workers, and all eligible voters.
Thanks for being in this fight.
